Less than three weeks to go

As of writing this post, I can confirm that we have 127 registered BarCampers to show up at BarCamp Phnom Penh; we have 107 people subscribed to our email list. Please make sure that you all suscribe to the list, which can be found here. We use the email list to send you updates on the event.

It’s amazing that, so far, most of the campaigns have been done online. Our BarCamp PP folks use both basic and sopshisticated technologies to spread the word, from text messaging to email to Twitter; and not to mention Facebook. We’re also appreciated that our Cambodia bloggers link to our official blog site.

For presenters, please prepare your slides you will present at the BarCamp. You might want to use SlideShare to store the presentation. The BarCamp Phnom Penh at Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) will be equipped with Wi-Fi and LCD projectors. Should you have any other questions, please leave your comment on this weblog post.

A couple of things to let you BarCampers know what’s behind the scene. The BarCamp planners are having a meeting later this week to conclude the works we have been running for the past months. We’re now BarCamp stickers; and we’ll soon start producing BarCamp Phnom Penh T-shirts. Our generous sponsors and supporters also provide us T-shirts, caps, print magazines, software, and such.

Also, for more information on the BarCamp PP, our wiki site was launched to provide all relevant information on the event. You can register online to participate the BarCamp physically.

BarCamp Bangkok This Weekend

August 25th, 2008

An email from John Berns, who is one of BarCamp Bangkok 2 planners, lets us know that Bangkok is hosting its second BarCamp, taking place late this month:

Greetings, neighbors!

We will be holding Barcamp Bangkok 2 this weekend: August 30/31.

We closed registration a few weeks ago (almost 500 people registered),
but if some of you guys want to drop by to get ideas for your
upcomming Barcamp and to meet some of your Thai counterparts, we would
love to have you.

Email me (john at barcampbangkok dot org) and I will get you on the
registration list.

Best of luck on your Barcamp in September–I hope I can make it there!

– John
