sorry for the delay. Jan, I spoke with a Cambodian reporter who works a lot with law enforcement. He assures me there are no laws prohibiting possession of lock-picking tools. They may be used in a court as evidence for intent, depending on the situtation, but possession is not a crime. I hope this means we will get to see a demonstration. (and yes, I did mean shimming, not loiding).

Do you mean loiding of door locks with e.g. a credit card? I haven't tried that so far, because there are no doors here where it could work. If I have the time, I could try out shimming padlocks (like here <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipMi6ryESqk" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipMi6ryESqk</a> )...this could turn into something like a session on lockpicking with household items :) Please let me know what you find out about the lockpick sets. And of course it would be great if maybe you could bring some common padlocks, and I will also bring some from here.

Would anyone be interested on a talk on various forms of securing communication? Like, email with GnuPG, instant messaging with OTR, VOIP with Zfone? I have no direct experience with two-way radios with FHSS, but am intrigued (apparently Royal Group has struck a deal to bring Motorlas here, which may mean its new FHSS radio). Or is there anything else in this realm people would want to know specifically about?

whoa, I haven't logged in in forever. I'd really like to see this talk. I'm not aware of any laws here regarding lockpick sets, but will ask. Could you maybe do a session on loiding? It might be neat/informative/scary to use common padlocks that are common here.

I've heard many people have questioned around about why do they have to register to go to Barcamp Phnom Penh 2009 if everything at the event is free? There are two main reasons: 1. to let other barcampers know that you're coming, so they can prior learn more about you and your interesting topics. 2. to let the organizers know that you're coming, so they can prepare stuffs for you.

I know a little bit about lock picking, so if you are interested, I could do a very basic session about topics like "How does a lock work in general?", "What's the basic approach of lock picking?", "How to build picks" or "How do bump keys work". btw. is it legal to own lock picking equipment in Cambodia? In that case, I could bring some picks with me.

Hello, I think you can probably run a T-shirt competition here, by letting each member present their design of the BarCamp T-shirt... but if you don't like the idea, it's okay. What the T-shirt should look like?? Oh well, you should have both the girl and boy sizes... the girl size is a bit curved at the middle sides... For colors, pink is very favoured by gals while green or blue are preferred by boys. We should have a small design on the front of the T-shirt and at the back of the T-shirt, you should have a slogan or a catchy phrase of which meaning is related to the Barcamp.. What do you think?
