More than 200 people registered to attend the day-long unconference; about 300 people showed up physically at the event.

BarCamp Phnom Penh attracted so many amazing BarCampers, including those from neighboring countries; and the presenters helped making the day so lively.

In the front-page of Cambodia’s oldest newspaper, The Phnom Penh Post, reporter Eleanor Ainge Roy wrote that: “…Cambodia’s meeting held true to the open, collaborative essence of its origins.”

We hope that BarCamp Phnom Penh plays an integral part in inspiring tech enthusiasts in Cambodia to work together collaboratively, and hopefully building a stronger tech community.

As of now, 174 registered to be BarCampers. A number of interesting topics have been suggested, range from new trend Web 2.0 to how to kill your traditional email. And just weeks ahead of BarCamp Phnom Penh, online discussions on all things technology have already been taken place; you can tell why. Geeky people love talking when they meet each others; there is no exception for their online activity. To follow their discussions and to get new updates on the convention, please join BarCamp Phnom Penh email group.

It’s amazing that, so far, most of the campaigns have been done online. Our BarCamp PP folks use both basic and sopshisticated technologies to spread the word, from text messaging to email to Twitter; and not to mention Facebook. We’re also appreciated that our Cambodia bloggers link to our official blog site.

For presenters, please prepare your slides you will present at the BarCamp. You might want to use SlideShare to store the presentation. The BarCamp Phnom Penh at Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) will be equipped with Wi-Fi and LCD projectors. Should you have any other questions, please leave your comment on this weblog post.

A couple of things to let you BarCampers know what’s behind the scene. The BarCamp planners are having a meeting later this week to conclude the works we have been running for the past months. We’re now BarCamp stickers; and we’ll soon start producing BarCamp Phnom Penh T-shirts. Our generous sponsors and supporters also provide us T-shirts, caps, print magazines, software, and such.
